AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is seeking the public's help to find a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery that happened at Tornado Bus Company in south Austin in December, the agency said in a news release Wednesday.
The alleged robbery happened on Dec. 12 around 3:30 p.m. at 711 E. Ben White Blvd. APD responded to the bus company and investigated the incident, which revealed a woman employee said she "was robbed at gunpoint," the release said.
APD detectives learned the woman was working in her office when the suspect walked in holding a firearm and then demanded money from her. Then, the suspect "physically attacked the victim by pistol-whipping and punching her," the release said. The suspect then ran away "with an undisclosed amount of cash" toward Interstate 35 eastbound, according to police.
The suspect is described by police as a Hispanic man, who is approximately 50-60 years old. He was last seen wearing a plain, black-hooded jacket, baseball hat, black face mask, black gloves, dark-colored jeans, black dress shoes and was armed with a handgun.
Anyone with any information on the suspect is urged to call APD's Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Tipsters can also submit an anonymous tip on the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program website.
There is also a reward of up to $1,000 available to anyone who could provide information that leads to an arrest, according to police.
