ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man will spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering his ex-girlfriend two years ago. Jonathan Martinez was sentenced to life in prison plus six years for murdering Yasmin Marquez in 2022. A jury convicted Martinez of the murder in October. New Mexico man admits to setting California church and preschool on fire That case showed Martinez was connected to her murder from text messages she received the day she went missing. Police found her body two months after her disappearance. Judge David Murphy sentenced Martinez to life in prison.
