BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A Kern Valley High teacher asked a student to stay behind after class -- for reasons that had nothing to do with her schooling. Christopher David Renaudo admitted last year to engaging in sex acts with and sending sexually explicit messages to the underage girl. He was sentenced Tuesday to 16 months in custody and lifetime sex offender registration. Ridgecrest Police Dept. attempts to locate wanted rape suspect Renaudo, 29, pleaded no contest to two felony counts; three others were dismissed. He was arrested in April after the victim reported he sexually assaulted her on three occasions after asking her to stay late, according to court documents. The teen said the incidents took place months earlier. She told sheriff’s investigators she didn’t immediately come forward because she was concerned about Renaudo losing his job and family. Investigators confronted him with messages and a video sent from his account, and he admitted to the crimes, according to court documents.
