President Trump, VP Vance to attend prayer service at National Cathedral

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance will attend the Service of Prayer for the Nation at Washington, D.C's National Cathedral.
According to the National Cathedral's website, this tradition dates back to 1933 with the inauguration of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Trump and Vance's family, along with several leaders and reverends from across the DMV, are also expected to attend.

The service will begin at 10 a.m. with a musical prelude. The National Cathedral's website noted that four musical guests will perform, including The Cathedral Choir and The United States Marine Chamber Orchestra.
Around 11 a.m., the prayer service will begin and feature calls to prayer in the Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions.
Due to safety concerns, the prayer service will be closed to the public.

Road Closures
As the National Prayer Service is underway, D.C. police said the following roads will be closed until further notice:
Wisconsin Avenue from Massachusetts Avenue NW to Macomb Street NW
Woodley Road from 38th Street NW to 34th Street NW
34th Street from Garfield Street NW to Woodley Road NW
Garfield Street from 34th Street NW to Massachusetts Avenue NW
All drivers traveling near the National Cathedral can expect delays and are encouraged to find alternative routes.
