What We’re Tracking
Frigid morning
Warming up later in the week
Flurries possible Wednesday
Temperatures are brutally cold this morning with lows 10° to 15° below zero and wind chills as low as 25° below zero. These are record-breaking lows in some spots. The record low in Topeka for January 21st was -11° set back in 1888. We hit -12° this morning breaking the 137-year-old record!
It'll remain cold today as temperatures warm back into the lower to middle 20s. The wind will be out of the southwest from 10-15 mph and could gust as high as 20 mph. This'll drop wind chills down to around 0°.
After today, a slow warm up is in store with highs topping out into the middle to upper 30s by the weekend. The week looks to be mostly dry. We are tracking a slim chance for a few flurries by Wednesday.
