The Connecticut Mirror is welcoming four interns this spring: two reporting interns who will cover the legislative session, and two audience engagement interns who will work on newsletters and social media. Legislative reporting interns Amanda McCard and James Watson of the University of Connecticut will cover bills, public hearings, committee activity and other happenings at the Capitol. Their hires mark the continuation of a legislative reporting intern partnership between CT Mirror and UConn that began last spring. As audience engagement interns, Kat Struhar and Sam Hilton of Wesleyan University will create social media content, including Instagram slides, videos and Reddit posts. They will also produce weekly newsletters and work on the CT Mirror Explains product. “I am thrilled to welcome the latest class of talented interns to the CT Mirror,” said housing and children’s issues reporter Ginny Monk, who serves as CT Mirror’s internship coordinator. “They’ll be reporting on the legislative session and helping engage our audience around some of the policy coverage. I am confident they’ll tackle these tasks with creativity, dedication and verve to bring a better understanding of state politics to Connecticut residents.” Learn more about CT Mirror’s spring 2025 interns below: Sam Hilton Sam is an audience engagement intern at CT Mirror.
