SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials with the Brown County Parks Department say it's time to strap on the cross-country skis, snowshoes, or boots, for the first annual Ale on the Trail event. According to a release, those who attend the Ale on the Trail event will enjoy a 2.225-mile course paired with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer samplings along the way. Appleton’s “Mission We Hear You” in desperate need of public donations The event is a family-friendly event that will also include a scavenger hunt for kids along with kid-friendly samples provided along the trail. Those who register and participate in the event are given a 5oz mug for sampling and a lanyard to make for easy movement while out on the trail. Those wishing to participate but do not have snowshoes or skis are in luck as snowshoe rentals will be provided by Barkhausen and ski rentals will be provided by Pete's Garage on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. The Ale on the Trail event will take place at the L.H. Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve in Suamico on Saturday, February 1, from noon to 4:00 p.m. A post-event party will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ahnapee Brewery with a portion of the proceeds going towards Brown County Parks.
