CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte Fire says quick response allowed firefighters to contain a fire following an explosion at a warehouse in northwest Charlotte Tuesday morning. The fire burned through the roof of the warehouse on Tar Heel Road near Toddville Road.  Charlotte fire says it is a chemical exchange facility. The first calls came in around 7:20 a.m. about a tanker trailer on fire inside the building. Charlotte fire says it took firefighters 30 minutes to get the fire under control. According to a post on social media, “Charlotte Fire conducted thorough air and water quality monitoring out of an abundance of caution. All monitoring results were negative, confirming no danger to the public from smoke or runoff.” There’s no word what sparked the fire. Charlotte Fire says crews will remain on scene to make sure the area is safe.
