INDIANAPOLIS — "The nature of the emergency is that there's been some violence."
Court documents reveal that Terry Ogle, 79, called 911 dispatchers on Jan. 17 and admitted to beating his wife to death with a hammer.
"I did it," Ogle allegedly admitted. "She's deceased. Yeah, she's been down for a while."
When a dispatcher asked Ogle if he'd like to attempt CPR on her, the 79-year-old declined.
"It's too late."

Indy metro police arrived at Ogle's home on Questend Drive around 1 p.m. on Friday. Inside, officers found Ogle's wife on her back half covered by a blanket. She had blunt-force trauma to her head and wasn't moving. Blood was on a pillow, on a recliner, on the wall and the stairs and the kitchen sink.
Ogle was bleeding too, according to court documents. Police suspect he cut his own wrists.
Ogle didn't bother trying to hide his crime, according to the documents. He spoke at length with a dispatcher and admitted to "bludgeoning" his wife to death.
"It's a long story," he allegedly explained when asked why he killed her. "I've been under depression for awhile. So, we weren't arguing, I just lost it. I think she's having an affair. I think she was having an affair. So, I lost it."
Ogle also reportedly texted his daughter and told her he was going to jail for killing her stepmother.
A neighbor told investigators Ogle and his wife "did everything together." The neighbor thought it odd that he hadn't seen the couple leave the house that morning, as they always did.
Police took swaps of the blood located on Ogle's clothes. After being transported to a hospital for his self-inflicted injuries, Ogle was placed under arrest and taken to Marion County Jail.
He is being held on a preliminary charge of murder.
The Marion County Coroner's Office has not released the identity of the victim at this time.
