Jan 18, 2025
The first-ever matchup between Mobridge-Pollock girls basketball and Shiloh Christian ended in a 64-48 Lady Tigers win. Taking the trip up to Bismarck on Saturday for their first out-of-state tilt, Mobridge-Pollock got off to a slow start, trailing 10-0 in the first. Before long, though, the Lady Tigers rallied to lead 19-15 at the end of the quarter. The second quarter would end up being their strongest of the night, outscoring the Skyhawks by 13 there to take a 42-25 advantage into the half.
Shiloh Christian found ways to slow down the Lady Tigers in the second half, holding them to just 22 total points. Mobridge-Pollock’s defense knows how to play with a lead though, and they were able to out-slug the Skyhawks in the end to win the game by 16. Junior Blake Thompson had her best game offensively since December, she led the way with 21 points for Mobridge-Pollock.
With the victory, they are now unbeaten in their five games away from Mobridge. Additionally, the team ends the first half of the season with a four-game winning streak, up to 9-1 overall. The Lady Tigers will have nine days before their next game, when they visit Potter County on January 27.
