LINCOLN—(KFOR Jan. 18) The Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Rally will be held at 5 pm Sunday at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln’s City Campus Union – Centennial Room. The deliberate theme for 2025 is ‘Subscribe: A Walk Together In Love′ The deliberate theme for 2025 is ‘Subscribe: A Walk Together In Love′. This theme defines the 2025 Rally events and programming while showing our resolve for all the work we will do this upcoming calendar year and beyond. The pioneering work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dr. Leola Bullock has given us the power to be transformational in our charge. As King noted, “Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.” A diverse group of elementary, middle, and high school scholars organize the Rally. It is held in conjunction with the national recognition of the birthday of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. All components strive to celebrate King’s legacy and the mission of the planning committee: “…promotion of the life and dream of the late Rev. Dr. King, Jr. through positive youth action in the community.” Local, statewide, and international communities are encouraged to attend in person from 5-7 p.m. in the Centennial Room of the Student Union of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For those unable to physically attend, the experience will be offered virtually. It will be live-streamed to accommodate the Rally’s ever-expanding audience, with the pre-recording viewing of the Empowerment “Pre-Rally Program” beginning at 4:30 p.m. (CST), followed by the 30th Annual Call to Action program.
