KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are searching for a driver who was involved in an overnight, hit-and-run crash that left one pedestrian dead early Saturday morning. According to the Kansas City Police Department, just after 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Independence Avenue and Van Brunt Boulevard on reports of a pedestrian who was hit by a car. Woman killed by suspected drunk driver in Friday night crash Preliminary investigations revealed that the pedestrian had been crossing the street when an unknown car struck them. KCPD said the driver of the car then drove away, leaving the scene of the crime. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a few minutes later.
