Woman killed by suspected drunk driver in Friday night crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a two-car crash Friday night in Lenexa, Kansas.
According to the Lenexa Police Department, at about 11:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of West 89th Terrace and Park Street on reports of an injury crash.
Upon arrival, officers found two cars, a Toyota RAV4 and a Ford Bronco, crashed in a nearby yard.

Preliminary investigations by the Traffic Safety Unity revealed that the RAV4 was driving southbound on Park Street when the Bronco, traveling eastbound on West 89th Terrace, drove through a stop sign and crashed into the RAV4.
Lenexa police said the driver of the Bronco was arrested at the scene on "suspicion of driving under the influence." The car also had two female passengers inside. Neither were injured in the crash.
The driver of the RAV4, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
According to Lenexa police, the Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the case.
