(KRON) -- A burglary victim in San Francisco tracked down their stolen bicycles listed for sale on an online marketplace, which helped police recover them in San Lorenzo within weeks of the burglary, according to the San Francisco Police Department. On Jan. 2 at around 10 a.m., SFPD responded to reports of a residential burglary on the 2700 block of Anza Street. Upon arrival, police found a suspect had gained entry to the victim's house and stole several bikes valued at $28,000, police said. About two weeks later, the victim found a listing on an online marketplace matching the stolen bicycles. After sharing this information with SFPD, officers obtained a search warrant for  Joseph Zachary Negapatan, the listed seller of the matching bicycles. Recalled Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao indicted on federal bribery charges On Wednesday, officers arrested Negapatan without incident near his residence. They conducted a search of his home and discovered the victim’s bicycles along with other stolen bikes, frames, and parts.  Negapatan was booked into San Francisco County Jail for possession of stolen property. Although an arrest has been made, this is an open and active investigation, police said.
