What We’re Tracking
Blustery cold air moves in tonight
Arctic cold air to start the week
Dry week ahead
After significant melting today, temperatures will drop overnight. Cloud cover will start to build in by this evening as our next cold front approaches the area, bringing in another blast of cold air heading into the weekend. Anything that has melted today and created wet surfaces will likely refreeze overnight and throughout the weekend. This is leading to potentially slick spots on the roads and parking lots.
Highs will struggle into the low to mid 20s Saturday afternoon and may not even make it out of the 10s by Sunday. There is a slight chance a few flurries move through early Sunday morning, although won't amount to much.
Arctic cold air will settle in for Monday and Tuesday, bringing highs in the teens and overnight lows dropping below zero. This will be some of the coldest air of the season. Minimum wind chills during the first half of the week are expected to range from -15° to -10°.
After Tuesday, a slow warm up is in store with highs topping out into the middle 30s by the end of next week.
