Schools in Savannah, surrounding areas monitoring weather forecast

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – As Savannah and the surrounding areas prepare for forecasted winter weather, schools are making plans.
Here's a running list of local announcements.
Savannah-Chatham County
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is monitoring the potential for winter weather. Officials said it's possible school operations may need to change depending on how the forecast develops through the weekend.
SCCPSS said families will be advised no later than 2 p.m. on Monday about school changes via the parent notification system, website and social media accounts.
Beaufort County
Officials with the Beaufort County School District said they are closely monitoring the possibility of snow, along with emergency management. Any changes to school operations will be announced by mid-day Monday on their website and social media channels.
Bulloch County
In coordination with the emergency management agency, Bulloch County Schools is monitoring the weather. A final decision will be made by 5 p.m. on Monday regarding changes to Tuesday's school schedule and the rest of the week.
Announcements will be made via the district's mass messaging systems, social media and local media, officials said.
Wayne County
Officials with the Wayne County School System said it is still too early to decide on school closures. Any decisions made will be announced via email, text message, website, social media and local media. Remember: there is no school on Monday due to the MLK Jr. holiday.
