Two arrested in nearly 6month long drug investigation

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two people have been arrested following a nearly 6-month long multi-agency investigation that resulted in the seizure of drugs, guns, cash and vehicles on Thursday morning, Jan. 16.
According to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, around 10 a.m., the Major Crimes Task Force, which consists of detectives from Orleans, Jefferson and Plaquemines parishes, as well as the cities of Gretna and and Kenner, partnered with the DEA, executed two search warrants in Orleans Parish.

The searches resulted in the arrests of 39-year-old Desmond Holmes and 50-year-old Landis Domino, as well as the seizure of the following items:
116 grams of fentanyl.
86 morphine pills.
28 grams of cocaine.
2.8 grams of methamphetamine.
2503.1 grams of marijuana.
One bottle of promethazine.
122 suboxone strips.
Six firearms, including two that were stolen (one from New Orleans, one from Slidell.)
$33,671 in cash.
Two vehicles.

Holmes faces charges of illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled drug substance, and multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute (fentanyl, morphine, marijuana, promethazine syrup and suboxone.)
Domino faces charges of illegal possession of a weapon, illegal carrying of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
