PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities recently arrested a man after a traffic stop revealed illegal drugs and impaired driving. According to a Facebook post from the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday, January 14, Sheriff Dale McCullick shared news about a recent traffic stop in Prairie du Chien. During the stop, police pulled over a car driven by 61-year-old, Michael Fisher, a resident. While speaking with Fisher, officers noticed he showed signs of being impaired. Concerned for his safety, they decided to search the vehicle. During the search, police reportedly found illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, along with items used for taking drugs. Police say he faces several charges including driving a car under the influence of drugs, drug possession, and possessing drug-related items. The Crawford County Sheriff's Office noted they received help from the Prairie du Chien Police Department during this operation. No further information has been provided.
