BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Cases of flu and RSV continue to rise in North Dakota, while COVID is down a bit from a week ago.
According to data from the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, influenza cases went up 256 from the week before (822 vs. 566), while RSV cases jumped 14 from the week before (64 vs. 50).
COVID cases are down a bit from the week before (423 vs. 507).
The good news is hospitalizations are down considerably from the week before, according to HHS data.
For the season as a whole so far, 2,814 cases of flu have been recorded statewide, 215 cases of RSV and 7,799 cases of COVID.
The health department data shows four subtypes of influenza have been reported in the state: Influenza A, which is responsible for nearly all the cases of flu this season; Influenza A 2009 H1N1; Influenza A H3N2 and Influenza B.
The health department says vaccines are the best protection against respiratory illnesses.
