Two arrested in fatal Lakewood shooting

Two suspects have been arrested in a Sunday shooting in Lakewood that left one woman dead, police say.
Nairelis “Junior” Castel, 26, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of Kendall Street and taken to a hospital where she later died, according to a social media post by Lakewood police.
Officers on Tuesday arrested Flor Contreras, 25, on suspicion of complicity to committing first-degree murder. Menelson Leonel Ramirez, 27, allegedly fled the state after the shooting and was arrested in Megargel, Texas, also on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Police said Castel, Contreras and Ramirez knew one another before the shooting.
Contreras is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $1 million cash bond, while Ramirez was awaiting extradition to Colorado as of Friday morning.
