WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Two men have been found guilty on all counts for the 2022 murder of a pregnant woman found in Carbuncle Pond in Coventry. Gary Gromkiewicz and Michael Lambert met in prison, and later went to Brockton in December of 2022 to pick up Leila Duarte Da Luz. Da Luz was Gromkiewicz’s ex-girlfriend and was pregnant with his child. Da Luz’s body was later found by a fisherman at Carbuncle Pond. Investigators said her body was found underneath the ice with injuries to her head. Gromkiewicz and Lambert were each found guilty of two felony charges. Both men will be sentenced at a later date.
