Police: Search of Providence home yields large illegal firearms, narcotics caches

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police HIDTA Task Force executed a search warrant on a Beacon Avenue apartment Wednesday, concluding an investigation with a sizeable seizure of illegal firearms and narcotics.
The task force also arrested George Siradze, 31, and charged him with possession with the intent to deliver over one oz of a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine, possession with the intent to deliver a Schedule I controlled substance – psylocibin mushrooms, possession of a machine gun, modification of a semi-automatic weapon, possession of a ghost gun and others.
Among the weapons seized by the task force were a short-barreled, ghost .556 caliber assault rifle which had been altered to make the weapon fully automatic.
Also recovered were a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun and eight large capacity magazines, according to the Rhode Island State Police.
Narcotics and narcotics materials seized included approximately 671 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 17 kilograms of marijuana and materials to distribute and repackage illegal narcotics.
Members of the task force include officers from the Providence, Cranston, North Providence and Lincoln police departments, as well as members of the Rhode Island National Guard Counterdrug Program.
