FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A person was hit by a car Friday morning near the Hoosier Inn on West Coliseum Boulevard according to Fort Wayne police. As a result, Coliseum was closed in the area east of the intersection with Hillegas Road. The investigation began shortly after 7:30 a.m. When emergency responders arrived they found a woman lying in the road and they immediately began life-saving efforts. She was then taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition. Police determined the woman was trying to walk across Coliseum from the north when she was hit by an eastbound car. The driver stopped immediately and cooperated with police. The incident appears to be an accident according to police as neither speed or alcohol were factors.
