SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A woman waiting in line at a Summerville convenience store watched as a customer in front of her bought lottery tickets. When it was her turn at the counter, she asked the clerk to give her $25 worth of the same $5 scratch-offs the male customer had purchased. She told state lottery officials that she headed home to watch a football game on television and scratched the tickets during halftime. The last ticket she scratched was a $200,000 winner. “I thought this can’t be real,” she told lottery officials. “I didn’t watch the rest of the game, because I kept going in the kitchen to look at the ticket.” The lucky lottery player turned the ticket in the next day and said she was saving her winning money for retirement. “I hope the gentleman in line in front of me won something good on his tickets too,” she said. The winning ticket was purchased at the Parkers on Linger Longer Drive. That business will receive a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
