Home destroyed following possible explosion in Bastrop, officials investigating

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — Officials in Bastrop are investigating after a home was destroyed overnight.
The initial 911 call came in shortly before 2 a.m. to report an explosion in the 100 block of Wilbarger Cove, and Bastrop/Travis County ESD 1 responded.
Officials are investigating if it was an explosion that started the fire or a fire that caused the explosion.
While it is early into the investigation, officials do believe the house was vacant.

Neighbors in the area reported they could see the glow of the fire in the dark.
