Republican National Committee Treasurer KC Crosbie was elected RNC co-chair, formally replacing Lara Trump at the committee’s winter meeting in Washington, D.C. on Friday.  “I am just so blessed to follow in the footsteps of an incredible leader,” said Crosbie, who is also a Republican National committeewoman from Kentucky, thanking Trump in her first speech as co-chair.  Crosbie first announced her intentions to run for the position to fellow RNC members last month, according to NBC News.  “This position demands leadership, communication, and the ability to unify our diverse membership while supporting President Trump and his Administration’s bold initiative to “Make America Great Again,” Crosbie wrote in an email to members that was obtained by the news outlet last month. “I am committed to fulfilling the responsibilities of RNC co-chair with the same dedication I have brought to the role of Treasurer.”   Lara Trump garnered attention in her role as co-chair due to her status as President-elect Trump’s daughter-in-law. She and RNC co-chair Michael Whatley have been credited in Republican victories up and down the ballot last year,  Crosbie was replaced by Florida state Sen. Joe Gruters as treasurer. Gruters is also running for Florida’s chief financial officer.
