CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County Public Schools has appointed its new superintendent. On Thursday, Jan. 16, school district leaders announced that John. T Murray -- who has been serving as interim superintendent since Aug. 2024 -- will now officially assume the role of superintendent. 8News previously learned that Murray has a lengthy career history within Chesterfield County Public Schools, serving in various roles throughout the years. Before that, he was a teacher, assistant principal and principal, alongside other administrative leadership positions.
