Annex building in Fabens catches fire, causes 2hour delay for schools

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Annex building in Fabens, Texas caught fire early Thursday morning, Jan. 16, causing a two-hour delay for all schools district wide, according to Fabens ISD.

Fabens ISD said emergency crews responded to a fire at the Annex building on Thursday and asked residents to avoid the area.
All Fabens ISD schools will be operating on a two-hour delay due to the fire, the school district said.
Fabens ISD Media Specialist Sofia Maciel says the Annex building was not being used at the time of the fire and was vacant.
Maciel also says the building is the original Fabens High School campus and is 100 years old.
The district did not say what caused the fire.
