NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) — On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it will be free to get a look inside some of Newport's most iconic homes.
The Preservation Society of Newport County announced Wednesday that it will be offering free admission to The Breakers and Marble House next Monday, Jan. 20.
Both mansions are National Historic Landmarks that were built by members of the Vanderbilt family.

The mansions will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., but the last entry will be at 4 p.m.
The Preservation Society says people should be prepared to potentially wait in line as only a certain number of visitors are allowed inside the mansions at a time.
