(KRON) -- Authorities in Contra Costa County are investigating after human remains were located on a Richmond beach Tuesday night, according to the East Bay Regional Park District. The Park District received a call from a park visitor at 8:41 p.m. who reported finding the remains at Keller Beach. The human remains were in a decomposed state, and it was not immediately known whether they were of a male or female, officials said. (KRON4) The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office responded to the Point Richmond beach and took possession of the remains. 200 vases stolen from Lafayette cemetery The investigation remains active. Officials said there is no threat to public safety in connection to the discovery.
