ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - The Packers held a free event designed to inspire students from middle schools throughout Wisconsin to be positive leaders in their communities and classrooms. The free event, entitled "Empower," was held at the Resch Expo in Ashwaubenon from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday with a variety of programs and activities to encourage the students to be the best they can be. Over 1000 students, faculty and chaperones got to hear from multiple speakers, who encouraged students to be vocal and create a positive change in the community. Packers star running back Josh Jacobs gifting fan and Marine Corps veteran with Super Bowl tickets "They're here to be inspired and learn about mental health, leadership and giving back," Packers Community Outreach Manager Amanda Wery said. "We've found that over the years, starting as young as we can is important." Every attendee also got a special shirt to commemorate the event, and students took a post-conference trip across the street to Lambeau Field. The event was part of the Packers' community outreach initiative, 'Green Bay Packers Give Back' which includes a variety or organizations and activities.
