BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An apartment fire that left four people without a home in Baton Rouge is believed to have been intentionally set, fire investigators say. The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to the 5400 block of Longfellow Drive early Thursday morning and found flames engulfing the roof of the apartment building. Crews did a swift search before withdrawing due to unsafe conditions. BRFD said they stopped the fire from spreading but the building was destroyed. Officials believe the fire started in Apartment 4. The fire department is verifying if the four individuals were allowed to live there. Anyone with information can call BRFD at 225-389-2050 or contact Capital Region Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
