BOWIE, Md. (DC News Now) -- The Bowie Police Department (BPD) is searching for the people who stole two cars from a secured parking garage at a luxury apartment complex. Tierra Thomas lives across the street from the Aspen at Melford Town Center where the theft happened. “It is very disheartening because this is supposed to be a very safe neighborhood, upcoming and very professional family-oriented," she said. "Crime happens everywhere but I think we all need to be mindful and due diligence and if we see something we have to say something." Maryland State Police: Woman killed trying to cross street in Landover BPD told DC News Now that the two cars were stolen early Tuesday morning. Investigators did not share any details about the cars such as the make and models. Marcus Shaw is also concerned about the crime which he calls "brazen." He lives nearby in a townhouse in the Aspen at Melford Town Center. “You pay a certain amount for a mortgage a month and you expect some kind of normalcy or peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city and now you have to deal with thieves stealing things you work so hard for?” Shaw said. BPD is asking if anyone has information about the case to submit a tip.
