Albuquerque Public Schools add financial literacy class to graduation requirements

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Public Schools will now require students to complete a financial literacy class to graduate. The school board approved the measure Wednesday night. It aligns with legislation signed into law last year which requires school districts across the state to implement the changes.

The new rule will impact students entering the ninth grade the next school year. APS said the majority of students, families, and staff surveyed showed they stressed the importance of teaching kids financial literacy. The motion passed unanimously.
