EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for sexually abusing a child, according to the 34th Judicial District Attorney's Office on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Archie Antonio Bridges, 39, was found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child/victim under 14, the DA's Office said, According to the DA's Office, on Monday, Jan. 13, the trial began with testimony. The victim testified and said Bridges assaulted her continuously between 2017 and 2021, the DA's Office said. Bridges was then found guilty on Tuesday, Jan. 14 after one-and-a-half hours of deliberation. "The District Attorney's Office commends the bravery of the young female victim, who not only came forward and reported the abuse, but also testified during the trial," the DA's Office said. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, the jury unanimously concluded that Bridges should serve 45 years in prison with no parole.
