FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A stolen vehicle investigation involving multiple agencies led to the arrest of a suspect in Beaver Dam on Wednesday morning. According to a release, Fond du Lac Police officers responded to SSM Health on East Division Street shortly before 11:15 a.m. for a report of a stolen work van. The van had been left unlocked and running in the parking lot. TSA intercepted over 6.5K firearms nationwide in 2024, trends down at Wisconsin airports Authorities began canvassing the area and reported that the stolen vehicle was detected on the Flock license plate recognition system as it merged onto U.S. Highway 41 from South Hickory Street. Shortly afterward, another Fond du Lac officer confirmed the van’s location on a Flock camera in Beaver Dam. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Beaver Dam Police Department were notified, and officers located the van in a Walmart parking lot. A 43-year-old man from Columbus was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. Chief Aaron Goldstein praised the swift response and collaboration among agencies. Authorities are urging motorists not to leave their vehicles unattended while running to reduce the risk of theft.
