COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person is dead after a vehicle slammed into a tree in north Columbus early Wednesday morning. According to Columbus police, a person driving a white Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Busch Boulevard just past the Shapter Avenue intersection at around 1:05 a.m. Police said for reasons still unknown, the car swerved northwest across the center median and into the southbound lanes. One person in critical condition after north Columbus shooting The vehicle then reportedly struck a tree on the western side of Busch Blvd. and medics took the victim to an area hospital. The adult victim was pronounced dead at 1:44 a.m. The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and continue to seek information as to what caused the crash.
