MANCHESTER, CT. (WWLP) - A 17-year-old suspect is facing 112 counts after walking around with an airsoft rifle at an elementary school playground in Manchester, Connecticut.
ICE arrests Jamaican national in Hartford after prison release
On Monday, Verplanck Elementary School was placed under lockdown after the suspect pointed the weapon at 29 children and 10 adults, according to WTNH. The suspect allegedly said he wanted to commit "suicide by cop."
The teen was charged with multiple offenses, such as:
Reckless Endangerment (39 counts)
Breach of Peace in the Second Degree (40 counts)
Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds
Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
Illegal Use of a Facsimile Firearm
Risk of Injury (29 counts)
Threatening in the First Degree
No one was hurt in the incident, and the suspect will not be identified due to his age.
