Police on Tuesday made an arrest in the savage stabbing of a young man outside a Bronx warehouse that left him critically injured and in a coma for nearly three weeks before his death on his 24th birthday.
Pedro Luis Santana, 26, was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the Nov. 24 stabbing of Jeffrey Jimenez Cruz.
The two men had been arguing on Grinnell Place near Truxton St. in Hunts Point before Santana plunged a blade into the younger man’s chest around 2:55 a.m., police said.
Medics rushed Jimenez Cruz to Lincoln Hospital, where he lingered in a coma until his death Dec. 13 — his birthday, his heartbroken family had told the Daily News.

Jimenez Cruz was scheduled to graduate from Bronx Community College and then head to the NYPD police academy, family members said.
“Everybody who knew him, loved him,” his uncle, Alberto Castillo, said after his death. “We are destroyed.”
Santana’s arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending late Tuesday night.
