SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The San Francisco Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its K-9s. The department announced Monday that K-9 Carlow passed away after 12 years of service.
During that time, Carlow was involved in “hundreds of narcotics and money investigations throughout the state,” SFPD said in a social media post. Those investigations resulted in money seizures totaling almost $4 million.
Carlow also entertained children through a number of demonstrations at schools across the Bay Area, police said.

While Carlow worked hard, SFPD said he also played hard. “Carlow loved trips to Lake Tahoe, swimming in the Truckee River, romping in the snow, and getting filthy on the beach,” the department said. “He brought a smile to everyone that met him.”
K-9 Carlow was with the department since 2012.
