The Spurs end their three-game losing streak with a combined 69 from Castle, Vassell, and Wembanyama. Coming off a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks last week, the Spurs were hoping to end their three-game losing streak by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers. However, they would have to wait until Monday in LA due to the tragic wildfires. Their Saturday game got postponed, but Monday’s game would go on. This game was a tale of two halves. After the Lakers took a nine-point lead at halftime, the Spurs outscored the Lakers by nine to tie the game at 89. Then, the Spurs dominated the fourth quarter. They played excellent defense and outscored the Lakers 37-13 en route to a 126-102 victory.
Victor Wembanyama had an excellent all-around game with 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks. Wemby was efficient and did not have to play hero ball as his teammates were draining buckets and free throws in the fourth to clinch the dub.

Devin Vassell had a solid game with 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. It’s nice to see an efficient Vassell after a few rough outings. He had five threes but also put on the floor for some tough finishes.
Middy Magician. Dev knocks down the turnaround jumper over Rui Hachimura!

Stephon Castle had an efficient game with 23 points, four rebounds, two steals, and a dime. In his second straight game starting in place of the injured Jeremy Sochan, Castle has mostly played SG minutes. After some rough games in terms of efficiency, this is a great sign for the weeks ahead.
TOUGH. Steph puts the moves on Reaves and finishes on the other side of the rim to avoid the LeBron block!

Such a cool moment: JJ Redick’s sons lost their card and jersey collection in the wildfires, so Chris Paul told JJ that regardless of who wins, he and Wemby will start a new collection for the kids.

This was a great bounce-back win for the Silver and Black! After falling behind by double digits early in the third, it looked like the Lakers were itching to pull away. However, this team locked down defensively and didn’t force shots. That fourth quarter display is a total 180 from the losing streak. Hopefully, the momentum will carry on versus Memphis.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
The Spurs take on the Memphis Grizzlies at the Frost Bank Center this Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. (CST) on FDSN-SW.
