KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A jury returned not guilty verdicts in a case where a man was standing trial in a 2023 deadly stabbing at a Kansas City homeless camp. A jury found Tracy McKee, 60, of Kansas City, not guilty of four charges during a trial that started last week in Jackson County Circuit Court. The verdict was filed on Monday. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Brittany welcome third child The original charges were one count of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, and two counts of armed criminal action. According to court records, just after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, Kansas City police officers responded to a homeless encampment on East First Street, where they found the 59-year-old victim, James Perry, with slashes to his arms, legs and head. He was declared dead by emergency responders. Two days prior, emergency personnel had responded to the same location and provided treatment to Mckee, who was experiencing hallucinations and an injury.
