Small Business Administration to open recovery centers for businesses impacted by Bourbon Street attack

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The City of New Orleans has announced that the Small Business Administration is opening two recovery centers for businesses that were impacted by the New Year's Day attack on Bourbon Street.
City officials said businesses and nonprofits in Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Tammany and St. Bernard parishes can apply for the SBA's Economic Injury Disaster Loans program and get in-person support at the centers.

According to the city, the program is designed to give financial support to small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, aquaculture enterprises and most private nonprofit organizations in the impacted areas and aim "to help organizations meet ordinary financial obligations disrupted by the disaster and aid in recovery."
Two New Orleans locations will be open Monday through Saturday:
Business Recovery Center at Palace Cafe (fourth floor)
605 Canal St.
Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Business Recovery Center at New Orleans Public Main Library
219 Loyola Ave.
Monday through Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The deadline to apply for a loan is Oc. 3. For more information about the SBA loan program, visit the SBA website.
