WHITSETT, N.C. (WGHP) — A child died after a sledding accident led to a water rescue that happened in Whitsett on Saturday morning after a winter storm hit the Triad, according to the Guilford County Sheriff's Office. A press release states that the GCSO responded to a water rescue in the 900 block of Golf House Road. Upon arrival, emergency responders located a child in the water. The Whitsett Fire Department, McLeansville Fire Department, Greensboro Fire Department, Guilford County Fire Department, and the Guilford County Emergency Services assisted in responding. The child was taken to a local hospital where they died from their injuries.
