SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant men’s basketball team will host the reigning America East Champion University of Vermont on Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center. Tip is set for 4:00 p.m. Saturday’s game will stream on ESPN+. The Bulldogs will look to stay unbeaten in America East play following a win over Maine last week. Tommorow’s game will be Alumni Day at the Chace. The Bulldogs will honor the 2004-05 men’s basketball team that reached the Division II National Championship game. BRYANT DEFEATS MAINE in CONFERENCE OPENER Bryant opened America East play with a win on Saturday, defeating the University of Maine by a final score of 81-55. Earl Timberlake posted his 5th double-double of the year and the 25th of his career with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Barry Evans would add 18 points of his own along with 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and a career high 4 steals. AMERICA EAST EARL IS BACK After Saturday’s performance against Maine, Earl Timberlake is averaging 14.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg, and 2.9 apg in 32 games against America East opponents. Timberlake is currently 3rd in the conference in both points and rebounds per game; averaging 16.4 & 7.9. FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW Earl Timberlake made a career high 4 3p FG’s against Maine. Prior to Saturday Timberlake was only 9-50 from beyond the arc in his career. Kvonn Cramer posted 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks in Saturday’s win against the Black Bears. Evans’ 18 points against Maine marked his 14th double-figure scoring effort of the season and the 16th in his career. Aaron Davis has been a spark off the bench for the Bulldogs in his last two appearances. Davis posted a career high 9 points against both Grand Canyon and Maine. Rafael Pinzon returned to the floor on Saturday after missing the previous three games with a lower body injury. Pinzon went 2-6 from the floor and hit a pair of threes.
