HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Multiple Hawaii businesses and organizations are taking the lead on efforts to raise money for those affected by the Los Angeles fires. Former Hawaii resident recalls events leading up to LA evacuation Popular local apparel brand, Aloha Revolution (VH07V), is one of the many stepping up with its "California Love" fundraiser tee, where 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to fire victims. "We did the Maui fundraiser a couple of years ago and we had a fairly decent impact on the community there so we thought we'd do a similar thing with California after seeing all the destruction and craziness going on over there," said Ed Sugimoto, owner of Aloha Revolution. The shirts are available for pre-order on VH07V's website. Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines are assisting with immediate efforts by donating $100,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Officials added the joint brand will donate five million Mileage Plan miles to the American Red Cross "to help support its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies like the Los Angeles wildfires.
