Winter storm comes to an end, but icy conditions continue
Jan 10, 2025
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — A winter storm brought a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain to the region on Friday. We started Friday afternoon off with dry air, therefore, the snow that was falling was evaporating before it made it to the surface which cut down snow totals for Charlotte. A wintry mix will continue through 2 am before the moisture exits the area. The entire area is under a Winter Storm Warning until 7 am Saturday. Travel remains the biggest issue with icy roads throughout the region. Numerous accidents have already been reported. Bridges and overpasses have black ice on them and untreated roads are slick. Temperatures will not get above freezing until 10 am Saturday, therefore prepare for the ice to linger.
