SANTEE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- USA Track & Field is holding the 2025 National Race Walk Championships in Northern San Diego County this weekend, and several road closures will be in place in the City of Santee. Santee will play host to the 2025 USATF National Race Walk Championships on Sunday, Jan. 12, which will determine who will move on to the 2025 World Athletics Track and Field Championships in Tokyo, Japan, and the 2025 Pan Am Race Walk Cup April 19-21 (if held).  No rail service between Oceanside, downtown San Diego this weekend: NCTD Hosted by the City of Santee, USA Track & Field - San Diego-Imperial Association, UNATION, and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), the race begins at 7:30 a.m. on Riverview Parkway and Town Center Parkway in Trolley Square at Santee Town Center and will end by 11 a.m. The City of Santee is alerting residents there will be several road closures in place Sunday morning into the early afternoon during the race. View a map provided by the City of Santee below: Road closures in Santee for 2025 USATF National Race Walk Championships (Credit: City of Santee) USATF says the 35km Race Walk is expected to end around 10:05 a.m., while the International 20km Invitational is expected to end around 8:50 a.m. for the men's group and 9 a.m. for the women's group. According to USATF, this year’s Championship has been accepted as a World Athletics World Race Walking Tour Silver Label Event for the 35km, 20km, 10km, and 5km distances. Athletes taking part in the race can pick up their competition bibs and timing tag on Saturday, Jan. 11, or at the timing tent near the start line starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday (race morning).
