SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)-- The Springfield Armory National Historic Site will be moving to new winter hours beginning Sunday, January 12.
According to a news release from the Armory, from January 12 to March 23, 2025, the museum will be open Wednesday-Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and closed Sunday-Tuesday.
Free Music Fridays winter season at MGM Springfield
Superintendent Kelly Fellner stated that, “The change in hours for the winter will allow staff toaccommodate education and community outreach programs for students in Springfield and thesurrounding area."
The Springfield Armory National Historic Site is the location of the nation’s first armory established in 1794 by George Washington, serving until 1968. It holds the world’s largest historic American military firearms collection. The museum is on the campus of Springfield Technical Community College.
