LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Our local first responders had a chance to enjoy a night of recognition with their families in Ludlow. Ludlow nonprofit makes progress in funding to create women’s sober home PV Financial Group and the VFW hosted an appreciation dinner at the Gremio Lusitano Club Thursday evening. This free event was for first responders who live or work in Hamden County. The event offered them a warm meal and entertainment. Thursday's dinner recognized their bravery and hard work year-round.  “I mean we all know we need something or have an emergency, these are the people coming to help us,” said Kelly Haver of PV Financial Group. “Something like this you know reminds officers, reminds firemen, corrections officers that they are appreciated,” said Lieutenant Mike Brennan of the Ludlow Police Department.  Some of those in attendance included correction officers from the Hampden County Sheriff's Department, Massachusetts State Police, along with Ludlow police and fire.  Local News Headlines $10,000 donation made to ‘Concerns of Police Survivors’ First responders honored at appreciation dinner in Ludlow Los Angeles resident takes precautions during wildfires Palmer brush fire quickly extinguished WWLP-22News, an NBC affiliate, began broadcasting in March 1953 to provide local news, network, syndicated, and local programming to western Massachusetts.
